Przybyłam, zobaczyłam, zamyśliłam się
Idąc do kina na „Ave Cezar”, byłam przygotowana na świetną
komedię i interesującą fabułę. Czy okazało się, że ten film oprócz znanych
nazwisk w obsadzie i szanowanego duetu reżyserów nie ma praktycznie więcej do
zaoferowania?

Pierwszym elementem, o którym należy wspomnieć jest brak
lekkości w filmie. Mam na myśli sposób przedstawiania wydarzeń i postaci.
Niektóre sceny są zupełnie pozbawione sensu i wciśnięte gdzieś pomiędzy ciekawy
wątek, a zwyczajny temat. Nie brakuje też rozczarowania jeśli chodzi o humor.
Spodziewałam się więcej okazji do śmiechu. W zasadzie nie przypominam sobie,
żeby była jakakolwiek. Za to kilka razy parsknęłam śmiechem, więc uznajmy, że
momentami było zabawnie. Wielką niewiadomą były przyczyny porwania gwiazdora (w
tej roli George Clooney) oraz zagadkowa „przyszłość”, która za tym stała.
Odpowiedź zostaje podana w tak zwyczajny sposób, że w zasadzie nie robi żadnego
wrażenia.

Bądź co bądź, film ma pewne plusy. Jeśli jesteście
miłośnikami kina w czasach złotej ery lub chcielibyście dowiedzieć się jak
wyglądała praca w Hollywood tamtych lat, ten film jest idealnym przykładem. W
zasadzie głównym elementem, który przykuwał moją uwagę było Hollywood od kulis.
Jesteśmy wprowadzani w tajniki funkcjonowania fabryki snów i towarzyszymy
wymagającemu Eddiemu Mannixowi (Josh Brolin), który stara się zapanować nad
swoim „cyrkiem”.

W filmie możemy zobaczyć prawdziwe oblicza aktorów i aktorek,
pracujących dla Capitol Studios oraz sposób traktowania gwiazd w czasach
systemu studyjnego. Kontrola, aranżowane małżeństwa, „wybielanie” wizerunku i
kierowanie karierą były na porządku dziennym. Josh Brolin w roli Mannixa jest
niezwykle przekonujący. Dzięki niemu można sobie wyobrazić jak trudną rolę
mieli wielcy właściciele studiów filmowych. Na pochwałę zasługują również
stroje bohaterów oraz wystrój, idealnie wpasowujący się w nastrój lat 50. XX
wieku. Warto dodać, że studia filmowe były wtedy niezwykle popularne i
większość produkcji powstawała wewnątrz nich, a nie w plenerze.

Jeśli chodzi o aktorów to należy wyróżnić kilka postaci.
George Clooney w roli Bairda Whitlocka kompletnie odcina się od ról amantów, z
którymi go kojarzymy. Gra oczywiście największą gwiazdę wytwórni, która swoją ogromną
naiwnością wyprowadza z równowagi nawet cierpliwego szefa. Clooney udowodnił,
że taką rolą również potrafi skraść uwagę widza.
Kolejną postacią jest Hobie Doyle, grany przez Aldena
Echrenreicha (moim zdaniem aktor zostałby zmuszony przez wytwórnię do zmiany
nazwiska na anglojęzyczne, gdyby pracował w czasie złotej ery), który spisał
się znakomicie. Aktor pokazał jak skomplikowany jest proces zmiany wizerunku
oraz ile pracy artysta musi włożyć, by z kowboja zmienić się nagle w amanta.
Hobie Doyle wywołuje uśmiech na twarzy przez zabawne perypetie i wrodzony
wdzięk.

W filmie pojawia się również słodka i urocza (na ekranie) DeeAnna
Moran, grana przez Scarlett Johansson. Postać ta jest ulubienicą widzów, a
zarazem zmorą Capitol Studios. Kobieta z charakterem, która nie stroni od
przekleństw, manipulacji i naginania prawdy. Johansson pasuje idealnie do ról
femme fatale. Jej uroda sprawdziłaby się w kinie tamtych lat. Aktorka ma
niewielką rolę, ale potrafi wykorzystać czas na ekranie całkowicie.

Jeśli macie ochotę obejrzeć komedię, w której humoru powinno
się szukać równocześnie z poszukiwaniem porwanego gwiazdora, ale mimo to
możecie znaleźć mnóstwo ciekawych aspektów to zdecydowanie polecam „Ave Cezar”.
Zwiastun zapowiadał zabawną komedię, ale kiedy obejrzałam film, dotarło do
mnie, że w zasadzie prędzej chciałabym ponownie obejrzeć zwiastun. Powinniście
obejrzeć film, by się przekonać czy warto.

I came, I saw, I’m
thinking
Going
to the cinema to "Ave Caesar," I was prepared for a great comedy and
interesting storyline. Does
the movie offer something more than well-known names in the cast and respected
duo of directors?
The
first element to be mentioned is the lack of lightness in the film. I mean the way
of presenting events and characters. Some
scenes are completely meaningless and put somewhere between interesting topic,
and ordinary subject. There are also
disappointment when it comes to humor. I expected more
opportunities to laugh. In fact, I do
not recall that there were any. But
there were scenes when I smiled, so let say that sometimes it was fun. The
big unknown was the cause of kidnapping superstar (played by George Clooney)
and the mysterious "future”, which was responsible for this. The
answer is given in the usual way so that basically makes no impression.
After all, the film has
some advantages. If
you are a lover of cinema in the days of the golden era, or would like to learn
how working in Hollywood of those years looked like, this film is a perfect
example. In
fact the main element that attracted my attention was the Hollywood’s
backstage. We
are introduced to the secrets of the functioning of the studio and we
accompany requiring Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin), which is trying to control his
"circus". In
the film we see the real faces of actors and actresses, working for Capitol
Pictures Studios and the treatment of the stars in the days of the studio system. Control,
arranged marriages, "whitening" image and directing career were on
the agenda.
Josh Brolin in
the role of Mannix is extremely convincing. With
it, you can imagine how difficult role had great studio owners. Costumes
and decor, perfectly fitting in the mood of 50s also deserve praise. It
is worth noting that the movie studios were then very popular and most of the
production was created inside them, and not in the open air.
George
Clooney in the role of Baird Whitlock completely cut off from the roles of
screen lovers with whom we associate him. His
character is, of course, the biggest star of the studio and his huge naivety
irritates even patient boss. Clooney
proved that he is also able to steal the viewer's attention in that role.
Another
character is Hobie Doyle, played by Alden Echrenreicha (I think the actor would
have been forced by the studio to change the name, during golden age) who did
great job. The
actor showed how complicated the process of changing the image is and the
amount of work the artist has to put to became a screen lover. Hobie
Doyle put a smile on your face and he has innate charm.
In
the film also appears sweet and lovely (on the screen) DeeAnna Moran, played by
Scarlett Johansson. This
figure is a favorite of the audience, and also the bane of Capitol Pictures Studios. Woman
with a character who does not shun profanity, manipulating and bending the truth.
Johansson
fits perfectly for the roles of femme fatale. Her beauty is great for the cinema of those years. She
has a small role, but she can use the time on the screen completely.
If
you want to see a comedy, where humor should be sought simultaneously with the
search for the kidnapped superstar, but still you can find a lot of interesting
aspects I definitely recommend "Ave Caesar". Trailer
announced a funny comedy, but when I watched the movie, I realized that
basically sooner I would like to once again watch the trailer. You should watch
the film to see if it is worth.
